Much
of Sydney is heavily treed and we are avid gardeners. For these
reasons we are often in need of professionals to trim or remove
trees. Councils have strict regulations regarding removal of trees
of certain types and over a certain height.
There are also restrictions
on lopping and pruning as only a certain amount can be trimmed without
formal application to Council. There are regulations too allowing
certain trees to be removed without permission – usually if
they are too close to a dwelling. Branches that overhang gutters
or electricity wires can usually be trimmed without permission but
as all Councils vary in their regulations and fines are hefty a
phone call to Council is necessary to establish the guidelines.
