The use of the column in architecture dates back to earlier civilisations. Columns are popular today as well and solve many design problems. They are used extensively on both the interior and exterior of the home. Concrete columns are generally used only on the outside and often form part of an overall landscaping theme surrounding and mingling with the home itself. |

Columns fit well with both modern and classical styles and add the finishing architectural touch. Column styles vary, they can be plain or fluted, tapered or straight and plinth (base of the column) and capital (top of the column) detail can vary to suit a chosen style. |
